I’m Alex, the physiotherapist behind Forward Physiotherapy. I’ve spent over a decade helping people move better, feel stronger, and get back to doing the things they enjoy. Whether that’s training, working, playing sport, or just getting through the day without thinking about their body.
What I really enjoy about this work is helping people connect the dots, understanding what’s going on, building confidence in how they move, and seeing that shift where things start to feel easier, more natural, and back to normal again.
My approach is centred around that. Taking the time to listen, understand your goals, and give you a clear, structured plan that fits into your life, so you can stay active, keep progressing, and feel confident in your body without relying on ongoing treatment.
At the end of the day, it’s about helping you feel like yourself again, moving freely, staying active, and getting back to the things that matter most to you.
Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find me attempting a very average round of golf or out for a run with my dog, Brian.

Can I claim through private health insurance?

Your rebate will depend on your level of cover, so it’s best to check with your provider if you’re unsure.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your goals, your condition, and how you respond to treatment.
From the first session, we’ll outline a clear plan so you understand what’s likely involved and what progress should look like.
We’ll tailor this plan together to make sure it aligns with your goals, your schedule, and what works best for you. The aim is to give you the right level of support to move forward, not ongoing passive care.
As you improve, we’ll adjust the plan and space sessions out where appropriate, so you can continue progressing with confidence.

Yes, we manage work-related injuries and can liaise with insurers, employers, and other providers where required.
Will treatment be hands-on or exercise-based?
We use a combination of hands-on treatment and exercise, depending on what’s most appropriate for you. The goal is not just short-term relief, but long-term improvement.
Will I get exercises to do at home?
In most cases, yes. Your program may include exercises to help with pain, movement, strength, confidence, or getting back to your usual activities.
We’ll only prescribe exercises where they’re appropriate for you. If things are very irritable, exercise may not be the first priority straight away.
When exercises are included, we’ll practise them together, make sure you understand what to do, and build them around your goals, lifestyle, and weekly routine. You’ll also receive your program through Physitrack so it’s easy to follow at home.
Yes, dry needling is a service we offer and use where clinically appropriate as part of your overall treatment plan.
Can physiotherapy help if I’ve had pain for a long time?
Yes, this is exactly what we help with.
Persistent pain is common and often needs a more thorough, structured approach.
We’ll help you understand what’s contributing to your symptoms and guide you step by step to rebuild movement, confidence, and control, so you can get back to doing more of what matters to you.
Why hasn’t my pain improved yet?
Pain that doesn’t improve often means something has been missed — whether that’s how the area is loading, movement patterns, or other contributing factors.
We take the time to properly assess what’s driving your pain and give you a clear plan to move forward with confidence.
Can you help if I’ve already tried physio before?
Yes. Many people come to us after trying other treatments. We take a detailed approach to understand what may have been missed and help you move forward with a clear plan.
Can I still train or stay active while recovering?
In most cases, yes.
We’ll guide you on what to continue, what to modify, and how to stay active while working toward your goals.
